Therapy for Children and Teens
As a parent, you want to equip your child with the tools they need to navigate life's challenges with resilience. But when challenges like anxiety, school stress, behavioral issues, or low self-esteem start to get in the way, it can feel overwhelming. Therapy provides a supportive partnership to help your child—and your entire family—find a path toward greater well-being and learn skills to reach their goals.
A Personalized, Skill-Based Approach:
My goal is partner with you and your child to build a foundation for healthy emotional development, giving your child and family a toolkit of strategies to face life’s challenges with confidence. Given that every child is unique, I use evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to develop a personalized plan that caters to your child’s specific strengths, areas of growth, and goals.
Common Reasons for Seeking Support:
Anxiety, worry, or panic
Low mood, sadness, or low self-esteem/confidence
Academic stress and perfectionism
Social challenges
Coping with big emotions
Inattention and concentration challenges
Defiance, power struggles, and difficulty following expectations at school or home
What to Expect:
Therapy begins with a parent-only intake to better understand your concerns, goals, your child’s strengths, and your child’s areas of growth. If you are seeking therapy for your teen, they will also be included in the intake appointment. Following our intake, I will share my clinical insights and a clear path forward. We will collaboratively develop a tailored roadmap with goals that target your concerns and goals. From here, therapy sessions are typically held weekly or every other week and last 50 minutes. Therapy sessions include active skill-building, and frequently include a blend of discussion, activities, and time to practice new coping skills for thinking, feeling, and behaving.
Fees and Insurance:
Initial Intake Session (75 mins): $295
Therapy Sessions (50 mins): $240
I am an out-of-network provider, which means I do not bill insurance companies directly. If your insurance plan includes out-of-network (OON) benefits, you may be able to receive significant reimbursement for our sessions. Upon request, I can provide you with a monthly superbill (a detailed receipt) that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
